 Sports that are practiced at Aalborg


Badmintonklubben ABC Aalborg:

ABC Aalborg was founded in 1958 when Idrætsforeningen Skjold and Aalborg Badminton Club merged. Since the start in 1958 ABC Aalborg has been represented in some of the best leagues in Denmark.


Aalborg Basketball Klub:

In Aalborg Basketball Klub our main goal is to have fun with each other, both on and off the court. Besides playing basketball, there are plenty of opportunities to participate and get involved in various events and initiatives.


Aalborg Beach volleyball Club:

Aalborg Beach Volleyball Club was established in 2006. From 2006 to the summer of 2016, the training took place on the 4 courts at Nykærvej 2A, 9000 Aalborg.


Sport Riding Club of Klarup:

Klarup Sports Riding Centre is a fairly large Equestrian Centre with around 50 horses in the stable. The location is situated right outside Klarup city (about 10 km from Aalborg C.). The riding lessons are run in groups or, if you prefer, individually.

 Aalborg Theater It is the main theater in Aalborg, Denmark. Built in 1878, it was subsequently modified by Julius Petersen and was remodeled in 2000. Its address is still Jernbanegade (Railway Street), although the station and the theatre have both moved. The theatre has three stages and seats 870 in the main auditorium. There are 10-12 annual productions with a total of 250-400 performances, covering a wide selection of drama and musical. Nordkraft Nordkraft is a cultural centre in the Danish city of Aalborg. Opened in 2009, it is located in a former electricity generating station close to the waterfront in an area designated for cultural development. Today Aalborg is one of the most important cities in Northern Jutland (Nordjylland). It is known that the first settlement in Aalborg dates back to 700 AD. One of the most important aspects in Aalborg and that makes it one of the most important centers, not only of the Country of Denmark, but of commerce, is the fact that it is the closest point to the Limfjord. Even though the first settlement dates back to 700 AD. The name itself of Aalborg was first made known in the 11th century, the first written mention was in the year 1040, but with a different name, “Alabu” (the place by the stream).
